Roller Component Details
2 3/8”round or 2" Square graphite impregnated nylon roller is UV stabilized and a full 7" in diameter. The precision machined low friction surface helps extend the life of the gate coating. The high density of the nylon roller allows gates to roll with minimum effort. Accura rollers are a perfect match for automated gates to help extend the life expectancy of expensive gate operators.

4” posts are standard but 2 7/8" (3"), 3 1/2", 4 1/2" and 6 5/8" are also available. The heavy-duty design is made from 5/16” (8mm) thick galvanized steel rather than cast aluminum or iron for long term performance and to eliminate cracking. Rather than a single vertical gusset, we use a 3-way gusset for superior strength. The axle housing is 1/2” thick and penetrates the base. U bolts, nuts, washers included. The 1/2" set screw includes a locking nut.
While some take a "universal" approach to bracket design and simply switch U bolts for size differences and for both round and square. Given the loads, these rollers are designed to take we take a very sparing approach to "universal". Square posts get brackets specifically designed for a square post...not simply a U bolt switch. In just a couple of circumstances, we use the same bracket (4' round) with specially designed U bolts making the part fit 3 1/2" and 2 7/8" posts.
Axle – 1-1/8” (28mm) machined steel axle is galvanized for long life. Stainless steel snap rings on both sides securely retain the wheel. The machined set screw section in the axle allows for fine-tuned roller alignment.
Bearings – two 62/28 RS - rubber sealed bearings are pressed into both sides of the roller.
Nylon Dust Covers – protect the bearings on each side of the wheel.
Load Rating – 4000# reaction load.

Pre-installed covers are included with every roller saving installation time and insuring that you always have them when you need them. UV stabilized black plastic covers are vented to allow moisture to drain so they work on either the top or bottom roller. Unlike some our cover is firmly held in position by the gusset, the set bolt, and the axle end to prevent it from turning or sagging and dragging on the gate frame.
Heavy 1/4" (6.3mm) steel is now gusseted to better protect the roller and covers during opening or closing. This is especially important on manually operated gates. Since the gate rolls so freely the weight of a heavy gate hitting the stop is transferred to the post rather than the cover or roller. Two are included in every kit at no additional charge. For automated gates, our stops now are punched for a carriage bolt and each set includes an ASTM protective panel mounting bracket to make it easier to comply with ASTM 2200.

Roller Component Truck Assembly
Rollers: Four 2.05" diameter (52mm) pre-lubricated sealed bearings are maintenance-free. Rollers are individually rated at 2730# dynamic load.
Guide Wheels: Two 2.13" diameter (54.1mm) steel rollers incorporating Accura's exclusive sealed bearing design. Bearings with a load rating ≈50% greater than some competing (and similar in appearance) rollers are pressed into the guide wheel and then the inner race is bolted (captured) in place and then pinned to prevent loosening in use. Since the stainless steel pin is supported both above and below the guide the structure is much stronger...critical in addressing the swaying motion of the gate.
Center Axle: 304 Stainless with stainless snap rings.
Body: High strength ZAMAK #3 Zinc-Aluminum Alloy per ASTM 4G-04A.
Mounting Bolt: Fine thread stainless steel 5/8" bolt with rod end bearing with locking nuts. Static load rating of 6800#. Using a rod end bearing rather than simply a fixed axle connection ensures that the truck assembly tracks freely by accommodating the subtle swaying motion inherent in most gate installations.

Bracket - Fits 4” round or square posts depending on which bolts you use (U bolts sold separately). It is made from 3/8” thick galvanized steel. Rounded corners help prevent chain link fabric from catching on the bracket. The slotted truck assembly mounting hole allows for tuck alignment.
